The head is made from ultra-light and super-strong aluminum alloy. The sturdy carbon-fiber shaft prevents vibration when striking and together with the rubber handle grip negates heat loss of the user’s hand.

The replaceable ice pick «FORT» is tapered at the tip down to 3.5 mm for easy penetration into the hardest ice. The width of the pick (6 mm) ensures its durability.

The main climbing gear certifications are CE and UIAA--and normally the UIAA creates the rules that the CE body also supports. When possible, we try to list all the certifications the product carries.

To sell a climbing product in Europe, the device must be CE certified. There are no official requirements to sell climbing gear in the US. The UIAA certification is a voluntary process.

Best all around tool I've used

Ultra light, stiff, great pick angle, great geometry, very good on ice (with ice picks), very durable (6mm) DT picks.
No hammer
I’ve used it a ton

Despite what the producer suggests this is not a competition-only tool. I used it on pure ice, trad mixed routes and a lot of drytooling routes with great success. It greatly exceeds quality and performance of all the other tools I used (x-dreams, ergos, fusions, grivel forces).

The only real con is that it doesn't have a hammer and it isn't possible to make a pick with an integrated hammer for this tool.

Another thing to consider is that if you want to climb easy ice with these tools (<WI5) you might need to grind the upper pommel a bit. On less than vertica climbs it can easily get in the way. I've done it with my tools, works great.
