We are so grateful for the Ohm as it allows us to climb together safely. It compensates for the weight difference between us enough that Nik can take all the falls he wants, and I can catch him safely. The increased friction of the new model will take some getting used to, but overall, we’d recommend this product to any partners with a 60 lb or greater weight difference. Did it save our marriage or anything like that? No, but it certainly did save our “belaytionship”! go to full review
Overall, I have extensively tested the Sendero climbing harness from Edelrid, and was very impressed with both its comfort and durability. As someone who typically floats between sizes, the Sendero’s true to size fit felt spacious and inclusive, enhanced by Edelrid’s Center Fit Technology aligning the tie-in point and gear loops for all waist sizes. This harness would be a great fit for anyone from a beginner climber just learning to an avid sport climber, as It is comfortable, but also..." go to full review
The Edelrid Autana really is a fantastic all around climbing harness. If you are a multi discipline climber, looking for a harness that can do it all, then the Edelrid Autana should definitely be on your short list. Edelrid succeeded at their goal of making an alpine harness that is light weight and packable, while still being incredibly comfortable and convenient to use. For all of my alpine rock adventures this summer I know which harness I’ll be grabbing! go to full review
For those of you looking for a feature rich all arounder that excels in the alpine, sport climbing, or anything involving a long approach from the nearest trailhead that comes with a lower price tag than most specialized harnesses out there then look no further. With supreme comfort, versatility, and packability the Sirana TC should be a serious contender for anyone looking for a harness to take them to the next level.go to full review
Overall, I am excited about Edelrid’s new environmentally-friendly climbing harness. It performs as expected while rock climbing and is exceptionally durable even though it is made from recycled materials. In the future, I would like to see a slightly less bulky fit and some adjustable leg straps to customize the fit of the harness for all body types. However, with that all being said, I will definitely keep this harness in my climbing bag!go to full review
After a month and dozens and dozens of pitches, the Aspect Pro climbing shoe from Black Diamond proved to me that climbing shoes can be comfortably padded without sacrificing the performance of the shoe. If you are looking for your first pair of crack climbing shoes then the Aspect Pros are an excellent choice to help ease the discomfort often caused by jamming your feet into cracks. go to full review
I had a great time trying out the Black Diamond Method S in a variety of conditions and rock types. It surprised me in many ways, and I feel like it will be a big hit for gym climbers and crag hoppers alike. They filled the Method S with modern features to satisfy hard bouldering efforts, but it is still comfortable enough for long and steep pitches. I would have loved for the “Men’s” shoe to be a little wider in the midfoot and toe box, or maybe they could have adopted “Low Volume” and “..." go to full review
I’m very happy with the Alpinist Techs. They’re lighter than my Blade Runners. They climb very well on steep (and not so steep!) ice. I can easily and securely adjust them to fit multiple boots depending on what I’m wearing and who I’m climbing with. At the tail end of a disappointing ice season, I’m already looking forward towards taking them out on next year’s waterfalls!go to full review
I. Love. This. Rope. The high-vis color and bi-pattern is incredibly helpful for climbing and rappelling. The weight is perfect for sending your hard projects and longer approaches. The UIAA triple rating allows it to be extremely versatile as a single, half, or twin rope. Finally, the Xeros dry treatment will hopefully allow me to enjoy this rope for many more climbing days in all conditions.go to full review
If you need a versatile, durable, mid-sized rope, packed with features at a great price point, check out the Sterling IonR 9.4mm BiColor Yellow XEROS. This rope performed well to the abuses of sport climbing. While I did not have the opportunity to test this rope on long multipitch routes, the BiColor pattern and resilient XEROS dry technology are two features, which would provide peace of mind when you are tackling longer objectives.go to full review
