Quantum VCS
Description
For the redevelopment of the classic Quantum, we worked with the Huber brothers, Alex and Thomas, to develop an all-around performance shoe for any climbing setting. The Hubers tackle a diverse range of climbs with many different angles and rock textures, so Stealth® C4™ (our most versatile climbing compound) was a natural choice for the outsole. The shoe has a stiff midsole and a fully synthetic Clarino upper, so it stays comfortable for extended periods of wear. The tongue is constructed out of perforated Ariaprene which conforms to the foot and provides unmatched breathability. Built on an entirely new last, the Quantum has a wider fit than our other downturned models which allows your foot to sit in a more natural position.

Overall I was happy with the performance of the shoe. It excels at vertical to steep face climbing but it’s not my first pick for the gym or a friction climbing. The stiff midsole made edging awesome. I didn’t find them very good for smearing but maybe I fitted them to tight.
These shoes are ideal for climbers with a classic “duck foot” who play on slightly to moderately steep terrain that demands powerful edging. And with the Quantum VCS, they can do it all day in comfort.
