Can be used both with one or two ropes and allows an easy change of braking under load
Avoids the risk of accidental loss, avoids the rope twisting, and avoids the wear of the connector
Can be used as an auto-locking device in case of emergency, ascending on one or two ropes (in connection with a Prusik knot)
