Description

Produced by Grivel since 1999 ­• Makes it impossible to lose the ice axes • Leaves hands free • Long when required • Compact when required An elastic double sling system to avoid losing tools when climbing on rock or ice, solving the problem of modern climbing without a leash. Ultralight version for mountain use and version 2.0 with swivel Rotor for technical ice. The Double Spring is attached to the harness by a larks foot knot. The two ice axes are attached with 2 small carabiners to the holes on the spike (max 750kg). Permits easy changeovers of hands and tools. The two sections are so elastic that they don't impede any movement and allow maximum arm extension when required.

Old school but still cool

I bought a set of these used from a guy on Facebook Marketplace. They're a solid leash that will keep your tools attached in places where you can't afford to lose one.

They're stretchy enough to allow for long reaches without pulling the tool back into you, but they don't get in the way when moving around. The locking carabiners were a huge plus for me, personally. I use a set of 2017 Nomics and clip these into the lower handle, and I hardly notice them.

My one criticism is the lack of a swivel at the harness attachment point. It would be nice to not have to worry about getting tangled up when switching hands. Not a huge deal if you're aware of it, but it can be a little annoying at times.
