This is my first mountaineering boot and for a woman with very wide feet and bunions, this is the only boot in the shop that would fit me. Even then, I had to get them stretched out a little bit. Besides that, the boot is very comfortable and keeps my ankle very secure. I've worn them on many PNW volcanoes with no issues
