Even though it is slick to the touch the shape balances it out. I do not feel like I am any more likely to drop one than other draws. 

Weigh my rack has these labeled at 36g but they actually come in at 48g. I should have checked the Grivel website as they do state them at 1.7oz/48g.This was a disappoint but they are still the only captive style carabiner that is not a locker so they will serve their purpose. At this time (November 2017) the only legit store I could find them in the states was gear express but you do have to call in and order over the phone as they do not plan to put them on their website. The two websites currently selling them online are both known scam sites and are charging more than gear express.
