If you've got this far it'll come as no surprise to learn that I've loved the Generator and (to a lesser extent) the Generator Mid. This is the shoe that I'd hoped the Maestro might be, but wasn't, and balances performance and comfort remarkably well, with a lot of ability to edge, jam and smear. Whilst some will find themselves drawn to the Generator Mid, this is undoubtedly the more specialist of the two, may be best reserved for big wall and crack climbers. The Generator is a much more..." go to full review

The Helios is a definite cut above your average all-round workhorse harness, with nicely sculpted and cleverly padded waist and leg loops that make it particularly comfy without excess bulk or weight. Sadly it is let down a little by the gear loops. For trad use in particular these seem slightly under-sized, while I find their positioning just a bit further back than I'd prefer. This may be influenced by fit and sizing, so it's something to look out for when trying this model on. In all..." go to full review

I got the Flyers Mid expecting it to be quite a specialist shoe. Perhaps it is, but what's actually impressed me most about them is how much of an all-rounder they are and as a result of this, they're a shoe I've reached for more often than I expected. They're supremely comfortable, handle brilliantly on a wide variety of different surfaces, and offer a good amount of protection and support. The fact that they're built to last, both in terms of its construction and the way in which the shoe..." go to full review

In terms of performance, the uppers have proved comfortable and robust for hiking, crossing scree and climbing in. I’ve been using them for most of the summer and they are showing little signs of wear, I am a heavy user as I am out regularly. I have noticed some small nicks to the EVA midsole – but this would be perfectly normal in the terrain I venture out in. The generous toe rand is perfect for scrambling and adds an element of water resistance for that occasional unavoidable large puddle..." go to full review

Any downsides of this harness? Well, just one really. The gear loops. It has 4 gear loops, 2 on each side, both of which are well placed. However, they are annoyingly tiny, unless you have only a few clean nosed quickdraws (normal karabiners snag very easily). It seems a shame that it doesn’t have 4 slightly bigger, fatter gear loops which would mean racking and organising gear (even just a big rack of quickdraws) would be simple.go to full review

Overall the Edelrid Tommy Caldwell Eco Dry DT 9.6 gives you a durable, good handling rope with excellent eco credentials (Bluesign certified). If you want a premium rope suitable for working routes or surviving the abuse of big mountain routes it is the perfect pick.go to full review

To summarise – the Ribelle Tech 3 HD is my go to boot for summer alpine climbing and guiding. It is filled with technology, particularly the DROP6 which aids comfort and movement efficiency and my favourite feature, the Velcro power strap, where you can easily tweak support. The boot is wearing well, climbs brilliantly and feels like a step up from the previous version despite a slight weight gain. Not just for the fast and light elite, this boot has a lot to offer anybody looking for a..." go to full review

Having used the new Vapor all summer for my personal climbing and my work as an IFMGA Guide, I have to say, I couldn’t be happier with it. It’s comfortable, light, well ventilated and I barely notice I’m wearing it. It’s definitely my go to helmet for all my climbing and after a packed season of abuse, it’s not looking remotely trashed. If you’re still thinking of reasons why you shouldn’t wear a helmet, the new Vapor eliminates them all. Get one!go to full review
