The Edelrid Pinch is my new go-to belay device. Every assisted belay device has compromises, but the Pinch has the correct alchemy of characteristics for me. Admittedly, it also handles most closely to a GRIGRI, and adopted familiarity is a big plus. The Edelrid Pinch also connects directly to the belay loop, delivering advantages that vaulted the device to the top of my list.go to full review
We are so grateful for the Ohm as it allows us to climb together safely. It compensates for the weight difference between us enough that Nik can take all the falls he wants, and I can catch him safely. The increased friction of the new model will take some getting used to, but overall, we’d recommend this product to any partners with a 60 lb or greater weight difference. Did it save our marriage or anything like that? No, but it certainly did save our “belaytionship”! go to full review
So, in conclusion the Arc’teryx Skaha harness is a great addition from the climbing designers. It’s superlight, comfortable and soft feeling next to skin. The generous, rigid gear loops offer enough scope for plenty of sport quickdraw or a full trad rack and the burly tie-in loops offer confidence to fall off those harder climbs. Finishing touches include a complimentary colour scheme and embroidered Arc’teryx decal and Archeopteryx on the waistbelt. All in a lightweight and compact package..." go to full review
Overall I found the Ghost Tech a great little axe for a bit of glacier travel, winter runs in Scotland and as a bit of a back up for some single axe days when iffy conditions might mean a second axe proves very welcome. The Ghost Tech would be a good choice for runners, climbers facing a glacial/snow slope approach and descent from a big alpine rock route and ski mountaineers.go to full review
