Description

Boreal Diabolo is a comfortable, versatile shoe for those operating in the middle grades. Enough precision for your latest project, enough comfort to wear all day. Our sticky and durable FS Quattro™ rubber ensures long lasting performance.

The Diabolo features a very slight downward camber and semi asymmetric shape to provide precision and a level of comfort more familiar to those used to flatter shoes. The upper consists of a unique mixture of high quality unlined split leather around the toes for comfort, and Lorica around the instep and heel for minimal stretch.

The double strap closure is quick and easy to use, and works alongside the medium tension heel to give a snug, secure fit. A tension band across the front of the shoe prevents bagginess over time. Our highly sticky yet durable FS Quattro™ rubber and soft midsole provides great friction on slabs without sacrificing edging ability. Diabolo is supremely versatile, and is the perfect choice for any climber making their first steps onto harder climbs.

Climbing Gear Review no rating given just a review

The Diabolos feel precise but versatile with just enough comfort to keep sport and trad climbers happy all day on long granite routes or pumpy, overhanging limestone. “On Hot Dog (5.11b) in Clear Creek Canyon, I needed to pinpoint tiny nubs, heel-hook, and edge multiple times on each burn, and these were the perfect shoe,” one female tester said. “I got plenty of precision and sensitivity without dreading the pain of putting my shoes on.” That’s thanks to the extra rubber that runs over the top of the foot below the toes, which locks in the forefoot without being too tight. Plus, the FS-QUATTRO rubber was sticky on everything, and showed no sign of losing stickiness after three months of redpointing.
