Overall, the Scarpa Mescalito proved to be a real workhorse of an approach shoe. Its strength comes from its stability when ascending and descending steep terrain and its tough build, that after six months of testing, looked almost the same as when we started our review. Adding to its strengths, the Mescalito is very light and kept our feet warm and dry in the wettest conditions. If we had to pick something to improve, it would be a small reduction of bulk in its heel to provide the user..." go to full review
Overall, the New Scarpa Booster is a great addition to the Scarpa line up. With its comfort and sensitive nature, it fits right in between the Scarpa Furia and the Scarpa Booster S. However, to consider this shoe the evolution of the Booster S line is a mistake. Although the shoe improves on the heel of its predecessor (pun intended) and retains the same feel in the toe box, the mid portion of the shoe and the sides of the heel seemed to have reduced the overall power of the toe box..." go to full review
Overall, the Scarpa Mago Climbing Shoe is a great downturned and asymmetrical technical climbing shoe. It holds a ton of power and precision in the toe box which is combined with a very well fitted and sensitive heel cup. For those jumping right into these shoes, they are difficult to break ibn so you do need to give them some time in the gym warming up before you pack them for the crag and your project.go to full review
Overall, the Metolius Inferno II is one of the best narrow width dog bone draws on the market. Without a doubt, its stand out feature is its narrow, double layered dogbone that actually feels good to grab and its overall lightweight at 90 grams. The Inferno is a must for anyone trying to cut weight with a streamlined design with great functionality and a natural feel.go to full review
Overall, the Furia S is a welcomed upgrade to an already great shoe. The Furia S can be described as a sensitive and powerful shoe that can handle massive variation in terrain. The power of its toe box is one of its defining features and makes it a go to shoe for any occasion. If we had to find a weakness in the Fura S, it would again be the heel cup of the shoe. Compared to the previous model, the heel cup design has improved greatly but with the lack of a ‘cup’, the heel of the Furia S is..." go to full review
Overall, after testing the Grigri + across a six month period on a variety of climbing terrain, we decidedly prefer the Grigri + over the previous models. For rope control alone, the Grigri + is worth a look, not to mention the introduction of other features including its steel plate to reduce wear and the model changes from lead climbing to top rope belaying. For us, the new safety features of the Grigri + are a good addition to the device but fell short of what was expected and were often..." go to full review
Overall, the Scarpa Chimera climbing shoe is a welcome addition to an already stellar line of high performance climbing shoes designed by Heinz Mariacher. Sensitive and lightweight, the Scarpa Chimera is a specialized shoe designed for difficult bouldering and overhanging climbing. Featuring one of the best heels on the market, the Chimera is a must have for the bouldering enthusiasts who need a tool in their toolbox to tackle technical heel hooks and require sensitive footwork on..." go to full review
Overall, the Crag Express Quickdraw is one of the nicest looking draws on the market, not to mention that its price point is exactly where you want it! With the perfect dogbone for working projects and an easy to clip carabiner, it is no doubt that this draw is quickly becoming a favourite among new and old climbers alike. We would highly recommend this draw to a friend and will continue to use it for a long time.go to full review
Overall, the Agro is a welcomed addition to Evolv’s line of high performance shoes. It is a real boss when it comes to overhanging climbing and is a must have for anyone who specializes in toe hooks or engaging steep bouldering/sport climbing terrain. We found that toe box of the Agro generated a lot of power on overhanging terrain but had difficulty replicating this power on vertical terrain. The toe rand of the Agro was much more sensitive than it looked and provided both sensitivity and..." go to full review
Overall, we were very psyched on the Edelrid Bulletproof and would highly recommend them to our readers. First and foremost, these quickdraws will simple last longer than you aluminum draws because of the steel inset placed in the rope side carabiner. Secondly, the design of these quickdraws have been thoroughly tested and undoubtedly are one of the easiest draws to place and remove when sport climbing. Finally, we concluded that the weight (and extra cost!) of these draws are worth the..." go to full review
