SHAKRA

Rating

My vote: None ( 4.6 avg )

Description

• Slight "Knuckle Box"
• "Love Bump" midsole
• Dual hook and loop closure system

The Shakra utilizes the same technology (love bump, knuckle box) as the highly successful Shaman in a lower volume and narrower fitting upper design. An amazing fit, a dual hook and loop closure system, and side-pressure relief rand design, make it an extremely comfortable high performance climbing shoe. We've added even more rubber for optimal toe hooking and with a slightly softer midsole than the Shaman, the Shakra offers more sensitivity on the rock.

Love Bump/Knuckle Box Technology

Love Bump/Knuckle Box

The combination of the Knuckle Box and Love Bump force your toes into a position of power while remaining incredibly comfortable. The Knuckle Box makes room for your big toe knuckle to rest in a curled position without having to push fabric and rubber out of the way which cause hot spots in other shoes. The Love Bump fills the dead space under your toes while putting much needed energy towards the edging surface. These two features work together to provide an incredible edging platform.
Trax® Rubber Technology

Trax® Rubber

TRAX XT® high friction rubber is formulated to be the highest performing rubber on the market. TRAX-XT®has a perfect balance of high friction and edging power on different types of rock and plastic holds while performing consistently over a wide range of temperatures.
VTR3D Technology

VTR3D

With VTR3D, the “high wear” zone of the rand is thicker, while low wear areas are kept thin to reduce pressure points and hot spots around your foot.

Pros
I love the toe hooking ability of this shoes, on balancy routes this shoe performs.
Familiarity
I’ve used it a bunch

I love these shoes. I have been wearing LaSportivas for years and now I am not sure I will ever go back to them for aggressive shoes. The Shakras are and an amazing shoe. I have never trusted my feet this much!

The shoes are a tight fit, yet, comfortable.  They have definitely helped me improve my climbing. They are great for technical routes, sport climbing, roofs, heel and toe hooks and I love the sticky rubber.

Outdoor Gear Lab Gear Review rating 3/5

For steep climbing, bouldering, and gym climbing, the Shakra is a great option. They are easy to take on and off, provide comfort for hours, and perform at a high level in most styles of climbing. The Shakras are soft in the midsole, so they don't do great on dime-edges or super-technical slabs, but otherwise, these shoes are a good option for the all-arounder.
