Description

The Miura Women's is the perfect tool for performance footwork whether it be on slabs, vertical or overhanging steep rock. The high tensioned Slingshot Rand is tied into the Powerhinge sole so that when small edges are weighted the shoe stretches in the back half of the shoe and not in the front. This allows you to stick on the smallest edges you can imagine! The multi-paneled lining gives you the perfect fit and the speed lacing system laces up in a cinch. The generally lighter weight of female climbers reduces the need for the increased hardness of the XS Edge sole rubber (used in the Miura men's) to achieve similar edging performance. This enables the use of XS Grip2 rubber for additional stickiness and improved smearing capabilities while maintaining incredible edging performance on razor sharp edges.

Footbed Lining

Dentex

Dentex

Synthetic rock shoe lining material with two way stretch.

LaspoFlex

Super lightweight, ultra-thin synthetic fiber-laminate designed for maximum torsion rigidity.

Powerhinge

A technology used in climbing shoes where the bottom of the outsole has a hole cut in it. The slingshot rand is then engineered to connect to the sole of the shoe in this area. When the toe of the shoe is weighted on an edge the weight of the climber stretches from the heel forward. The hole cut in the sole causes the shoe to only stretch in the back half of the shoe effectively leaving the toes in place on the surface of the rock.

Slingshot Rand

One-piece rubber rand wraps around the entire foot preventing stretch and driving the foot forward for a powerful forefoot fit.
VIBRAM® XS Grip2 Technology

VIBRAM® XS Grip2

Represents the natural evolution of VIBRAM® XS Grip, the new XS Grip2 delivers highly improved grip, while maintaining consistent performance in all temperatures. XS Grip 2 is the best solution in pure friction situations while remaining durable and even-wearing.

Outdoor Gear Lab Gear Review rating 5/5

This is our favorite women's climbing shoe, hands-down. It performs well in all of our metrics and for any type of climbing we hope to do. It can be either an all-around one-quiver shoe or reserved for hard sends. The level of downturn and moderately high asymmetry is just perfect for most climbers for most applications. It earns our Editors' Choice award for this unmatched versatility and the incredible level of performance, from right out of the box all the way through the third resole.

Overall, these shoes have great durability, fit and a reasonable amount of versatility. They will not be great multi-pitch shoes, but are great for both bouldering and sport climbing on a variety of terrain. Great technical shoes, aggressive, comfortable and solid.

Note: I wear a size 8 (US) and these shoes are a 38.5 (UK) for an ideal aggressive fit.

These are great all-around high performance shoes that excel at all types of climbing. Try them on a little small; I'm normally a 42 but I went with a 41 on the Miuras. You'll notice a little extra material that bunches on top of the toes, but it doesn't seem to affect performance and the fit is otherwise very precise.

I believe that these are the best shoes on the market and hope that La Sportiva never stops making them. If you like a stiff and aggressive shoe that offers supreme advantages for edging and toeing in pockets, then this is the shoe for you. Be wary though, because once you have a pair, you'll never go back!
