Description

Replacement pick for the Petzl Nomic I, Quark II, Ergo II ice axes. The pick is manufactured by a special process from high strength armor steel and then heat-treated. Due to the special properties of the steel grades used for picks production, heat-treatment allows to obtain an extremely high hardness level while maintaining elasticity. This results in increased durability and service life - the characteristics which are particularly important for outdoor dry-tooling and long mixed routes. The aggressive geometry of the pick allows for secure placement on the tiniest holds and edges but requires a special (top-down) hitting technique when climbing pure ice routes. Designed for: competitive ice climbing, dry-tooling, mixed climbing mountaineering. NOTE: The pick has no cut to add a hammer or an adze.

Ice Rating (if applicable)

Ice Rating

Most ice accessories do not have a rating. This field is used for ice axe and ice tool accessories like picks, that have an ice rating.

B / Type 1: Basic

T / Type 2: Technical

Note: Even though it looks like the more aggressive picks are T and the flatter picks are B, this is not always the case. The ratings are based on flex, and not the shape.
